Pan-European real estate investment manager Boreal IM has strengthened its asset management team with the appointment of Johana Ruiz, most recently of Mileway, as Vice President.
Ruiz brings over 15 years of development and asset management experience to Boreal, with roles in Colombia and France across multiple sectors, including industrial and logistics. She joins from Mileway Blackstone’s logistics platform, where she oversaw development and project management of its portfolio in France.
Ruiz will support in development and project management across a portfolio that includes over 900,000 sq.m of standing assets and 200,000 sq.m of developments in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. The portfolio, currently valued at €1.3bn, is the product of a joint venture between Boreal IM and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
Ruiz’s hire brings Boreal’s headcount to 23 and nationality count to 15. The pan-European investment manager, whose current focus is on the industrial and logistics sectors, is headquartered in London and has a local presence in the Netherlands and France.
